In 2001, Madison Square Garden was proud host to The Concert for New York, an event organized to raise funds for the families of the heroic policemen and firefighters killed in the September 11th attack.

Millions were raised for the victims' families as Paul McCartney, Elton John, The Who, David Bowie, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, Backstreet Boys, Destiny's Child, Jay-Z, and many others paid their musical tributes.
